Our first-ever book club
A live one-hour Zoom discussion of BIFF® for CoParent Communication by Bill Eddy, Annette Burns, and Kevin Chafin, hosted by Coach Brittany. Free and open to anyone. After this, book club moves into our Solid Ground™ membership.
The book · BIFF for CoParent Communication
If you have ever stared at a hostile text or email from your co-parent, felt your body flood with adrenaline, and typed a paragraph you knew you should not send, this book is for you. BIFF for CoParent Communication is the co-parent-specific edition in Bill Eddy's BIFF series, written with family law attorney Annette Burns and licensed counselor Kevin Chafin. It is short, tactical, and grounded in real texts, emails, and social media posts between co-parents.
BIFF stands for Brief, Informative, Friendly, and Firm. Bill Eddy, LCSW, Esq., co-founder of the High Conflict Institute, developed the method as a response system for parents, professionals, and attorneys dealing with high-conflict people. It is one of the frameworks our coaches use with every client in 1-to-1 coaching, in the SAFE™ Ghostwriting program, and in the 6-Week High Conflict Co-Parenting Skills Intensive™.
What we will cover on August 26
- What BIFF is and why it works on high-conflict people specifically
- The four elements: Brief, Informative, Friendly, Firm
- Bill's 3 A's to avoid in every response · Admonishments, Advice, and Apologies
- Common mistakes when you first try BIFF and how to fix them
- When BIFF is not enough on its own · and what to layer with it
- Live Q&A on real communication scenarios you bring to the session
